Governing body of GDA meets, approves certain important decisions
CM says PM’s historic relief package for construction sector to boost economic activities; directs to resolve water supply issue in Gwadar on permanent basis; Chairman GPA says new international airport to be completed by December 2022; work on LNG terminal to be started soon
The governing body of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) met with the Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan in the chair here on Monday.
The meeting reviewed various matters pertaining to development of Gwadar and then finally made certain important decisions. The meeting also approved certain amendments in the GDA building Regulations for increasing the progress of construction process in the private sector.
The Director General GDA, Shahzaib Kakar briefed the meeting about the agenda, implementation on the Gwadar Master Plan, process of rules and regulations and laws, development of basic infrastructure of development, besides the matters regarding town planning and building control..
While on the other hand, the propose project of establishment central business district in Gwadar was also reviewed in detail.
Similarly, it was directed to establish online system of GDA for increase in the construction activities under the new Master Plan of Gwadar.
The government body of GDA also directed to provide all the facilities to construction sector through one window operation.
Meanwhile, addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the historic relief package given by the Prime Minister Imran Khan for construction sector would boost the economic activities in the country.
He hoped that the development process would also be expedited in the public and private sector thanks to the relief package besides casting positive effects on development of Gwadar.
The Chief Minister on the occasion directed to ensure sustainable solution to the issue of water supply in Gwadar.
Similarly, he also directed to prepare the master plan of distribution and supply of water in the new settlements along with the old town in Gwadar. In this regard, a water policy should also be prepared, adding he directed further.
Earlier, the DG GDA briefed that the project of water supply to Gwadar comprises three phases. Out of them, the first phase has been prepared.
While the work is continued on the projects of water supply to Gwadar through different means in collaboration with the PHA, he briefed further.
The Chairman GPA, Naseer Ahmed Kashani said that the under construction Gwadar new international airport would be completed by December 2022.
He also informed that around 1.5 million gallon water would be available from the desalination plant established at the port under GPA, in next two to three months.
Referring the LNG terminal, the Chairman GPA told that the implementation on the project would be started soon at the Gwadar port.
