A meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan was held here on Monday.

Provincial Ministers, Advisors, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Additional Chief Secretary P&D, and Secretaries of the concerned departments attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the cabinet approved the Balochistan Digital Policy 2020-21. Under the digital policy, e-governance, public access to digital services, provision of inexpensive, standard, and high-speed internet facility besides promotion of ICT companies in the province through digital capability, digital economy, software and IT parks.

Including establishment of a state-of-the-art centralized data center will also be established.

The meeting also approved a bill to amend the rules framed under the Balochistan Tourist Guides Act 2014

Tabling bill to amend  Balochistan Vaccination Ordinance 1958 and the Balochistan Education Council 2021 draft bill with some changes were also approved.

The meeting deferred the Balochistan Smart Cities Authority Bill 2020.

The meeting decided to formulate a formal policy for livestock breeding,  prevention of contagious diseases in cattle, and paving the way for poultry production in Balochistan.

Public Private Partnership (PPP) Rules, draft amendment in Balochistan Government Employees Benevolent Fund (Disbursement) Rules, Amendment to Balochistan Civil Servant (Appointment, Promotion, and Transfer) Rules 2009, Amendment to Balochistan Government Rules of Business 2012 were also approved

Proposed amendments in Rule 56-A Balochistan Public Procurement Rules 2014 were approved too.

The cabinet also approved funds to enhance security measures in Kalat.

The Cabinet also approved the improvement and rehabilitation of Lakhra to Kanki Bridge Awaran Road with some changes.

The Cabinet also approved Rs. 111.800 million for compensation to the victims of the August 13, 2020 earthquake in Basima and Koregi, two Union Councils of Washik District.

The Cabinet also approved the formation of a Joint Cabinet Sub-Committee for Assessment of Areas of the Province Affected by Drought, Floods, Snowfall and Other Natural Disasters.

Secretary Mines also gave a detailed briefing on the current status of Reki Diq International Arbitration, Balochistan Mineral Exploration Company, and Balochistan Mineral Resources Limited.

Earlier, Fateha was offered for the martyrs of Mach tragedy.
