A high level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on traffic problems facing Quetta city and their solutions reviewed the proposed flyover and underpass projects to reduce traffic congestion in different parts of the city.  The meeting was briefed by the Communications Department regarding these projects. Secretary Communications and Special Secretary Finance, Secretary Planning and Development, Commissioner Quetta, SSP Traffic also attended the meeting.  In the light of the direction of Cheif minister it was decided that the Communications Department would prepare PC-1 for the construction of Expressway over Meezan Chowk to Spani Road, Habib Nullah while a dedicated U-turn would be constructed on Alamo Chowk Airport Road to reduce traffic congestion.  In order to regulate the traffic of Mastung and Sibi on Gahi khan chock and Sariab Road, a U-turn will also be made in front of the Police Training College and at Gahi Khan Chowk to improve the traffic flow.  The chief minister was said Government to improve communication in Quetta city and open the city the construction of new roads is expanding but the traffic congestion needs to be eliminated by reducing the increasing traffic congestion in the inner city for which regularization of traffic on the roads coming to the city is essential, the Chief Minister said.  The construction of the express way will provide an alternative road for out-of-town traffic which will reduce the traffic pressure in the inner city while the construction of U-turn on Airport Road and Sariab Road will also significantly improve and keep the traffic flowing.  The Chief Minister directed the Commissioner Quetta to immediately start the implementation of U-turn projects on Alamo Chowk, Gahi Khan Chowk and Sariab Road under Quetta package and to prepare PC-1 of Expressway to the Communications Department.
