A review meeting on the progress of the project for construction of sports complexes in all the districts of the province chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has been informed that all the Divisional Commissioners who are also the project directors of the project have been directed to construct sports complexes in the districts.  It has been directed to identify the government lands as soon as possible and submit the project to the steering committee for approval of PC-1 while the availability of land in 10 districts and other issues including PC-1 have been finalized, the advisor said.  Sports Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Secretary Finance and Project Consultant were also present in the meeting. The Divisional Commissioners attended the meeting via video link and briefed on the issues related to the project while Sports Secretary Imran Gachki addressed the meeting.  Informing about the progress made so far, the designs of sports complexes were also presented in the meeting. Expressing his views on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the aim of this project is to provide sports opportunities to the youth at district level while keeping women, children and common people healthy.  Lots of fun  The project is one of the major development projects of the current financial year. The Chief Minister directed that the districts which already have various sports stadiums and other facilities should also be improved under the project while those facilities in sports complexes should be improved.  He said that sports complexes would be constructed in the areas of radio station Sariab Road and Nohsar or Nawa Kali in Quetta and their quality would be kept high enough to compete with them at international level.  The Secretary Finance informed that significant funds have been allocated for the development and promotion of the sports sector which will be released immediately as required.
