Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said that steps are being taken to provide sophisticated public transport facilities in Quetta and other parts of the province.
Chairing a high-level meeting held at CM House in Quetta on Friday to review the progress on the Green Bus Project and installation of tracker system in buses, he said that the air pollution could be reduced by launching Green Buses and it will also have a positive impact on the traffic system of the city.
He instructed the concerned officials to launch two buses for women in the first phase of the project. The Chief Minister also directed to introduce Green Bus Application (App) and install GPS systems in buses.
He added that the launch of the Green Bus service in other districts of the province will also be reviewed.
Earlier, the Provincial Secretary Transport apprised the meeting that the tender process of the Green Bus project has been completed. He added that the Bus service will be started on two routes of Quetta city in the first phase and for this purpose, eleven bus stops will be set up on the route.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazeel Asghar, Additional Chief Secretary P&D Abdul Saboor Kakar, Special Secretary Asfandyar Baloch, Secretary Finance Pasand Khan Buledi, Secretary Transport Bashir Ahmed Bangulzai, Director Public Relations Muhammad Noor Khetran, and other officials attended the meeting.
