A meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan reviewed issues related to new construction projects of highways included in the provincial and federal PSDP for the current financial year. It has been decided to make some changes in the Ziarat Road from Ziarat Cross to Bab Ziarat two-lane construction project, the Department of Communications was directed to prepare a modified PC-1 while the construction of Ziarat to Sanjavi Road should also be included in the project. It was also decided to build link roads and construction of tourist centers and rest areas on the road. The meeting was also held to extend Dakki Chamalang Road, Sibi to Kohlu Highway included in the Federal PSDP, Barkhan and Connecting with Rakhni, Dalbandin Chaghi to Ziarat Balanosh Highway, Zhob to Manzaki Road costing Rs. 3.2 billion included in Provincial PSDP, Muslim Bagh Tabadini Road costing Rs. 1.5 billion, Qamar Din to Rs. 1.1 billion. Apart from the construction of Multanai Road, a briefing was also given regarding the communication projects connecting Turbat with other areas including Pasni, Mand, Bilangur. The meeting was informed that major, medium and small highways and There are 411 road construction projects out of which 85 projects have been approved by PDWP The tender process is underway and after the completion of which the implementation of these projects will be started while the initial work on the projects worth Rs. 500 million and above will be completed by September 15, 2020 and work on them will also start. The meeting was informed that for the regular designing of road and building projects, a proposed design house is being set up in the Department of Communications for which the services of architects would be sought, said the Chief Minister. That roads play an important role in economic and social development, which is why the provincial government is paying special attention to the development of means of communication, 2500 km of road projects were completed in the last financial year and 4000 km of roads were constructed in the current financial year. He said that expansion and reconstruction of Ziarat Road would increase tourism activities while connecting areas bordering Afghanistan in Zhob Division and areas bordering Iran in Makran Division with national highways would boost trade and economy. Directed acquisition of government land for immediate implementation of plans for establishment of GOR at divisional and district level in SDP.
