A high-level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan reviewed issues related to corona virus and mechanism for initiating educational activities in educational institutions and approved some decisions in this regard. The Department of Health and Information Technology has been directed to enhance the testing of Corona virus and the tracking and tracing of Corona infected people in more effective and integrated manner. The Chief Minister also directed to take precautionary measures against Corona virus in offices, shops and hotels. He directed to prepare a questionnaire to review the implementation of the measures on SOPs and post them at these places to check the extent to which SOPs are being taken seriously in public places. After reviewing in detail all aspects related to the commencement of educational activities in the educational institutions, the views of the participating public health experts and senior doctors were sought and a comprehensive mechanism was agreed upon under which Children and teachers are to be protected against the effects of Corona virus as much as possible, the Chief Minister directed the Secretaries of the Departments of Health, Information Technology, Education and the Chief Minister’s Delivery Unit to prepare guidelines for protective SOPs for primary, middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities. The departments were given the task of formulating a committee comprising of representatives of private schools and madrassas within four days. Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Lango, Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazil Asghar, IG Police Mohsin Hassan Butt and secretaries of relevant departments and other officials attended the meeting.
