Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said that the assets of Balochistan are its land, location and natural resources which can be developed through partnership with the private sector. Action and comprehensive strategy needs to be prepared, he said during a briefing on Public Private Partnership Amendment Bill 2020. Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Secretary Finance, Secretary Information also attended the meeting. While the meeting was briefed by the Planning and Development Department’s Strategic Plan and Reforms Cell on the proposed amendments to the bill, the Chief Minister directed that such amendments be included in the Public Private Partnership Amendment Bill 2020 which would not create any legal ambiguity. He directed for consultation and guidance with the concerned agencies of other provinces and the federal government regarding the amendments, saying that we need to formulate policies that would allow investors and the private sector to work in collaboration and to get a friendly environment, if we can finalize even three projects of PPP mode in a year, it would be a great achievement. The meeting reviewed all aspects of the proposed amendments in detail and took some important decisions while approving the launch of Balochistan Public Private Partnership Policy 2020.
