The third meeting of the board of Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority was held under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan. Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Rehman Bazdar and other members of the board attended the meeting while Secretary Labor and Manpower Saira Atta  briefed on the points included in the agenda, the meeting agreed to make B-TEVTA fully functional and useful and decided to make necessary amendments in the Authority Act. During the meeting, progress on implementation of ongoing Skill Development Program in Balochistan and related issues were discussed.  The three-year program is estimated at Rs. 1200 million. Under this program, six technical training centers will be set up in Quetta, Pishin, Panjgur, Sibi, Awaran and Kohlu districts. Meeting also reviewed issues related to the quality of vocational training centers and their training programs, syllabus and world-class certification, and various suggestions were made for creating uniformity in the courses of training institutions in education, labor and other departments.  The meeting also agreed to hand over the responsibility of monitoring these institutions to B-TEVTA. In view of the special importance of technical education, the meeting agreed on the need to adopt the training programs to modern requirements. Stressing on the need to improve the part of PSDP and bring the diploma in line with international standards, it was agreed that in this way the graduates would be accepted all over the world while trained HR would be available CPEC and others important projects. It will also prepare skilled manpower at the local level for important development and industrial projects and our skilled youth will be able to get employment in other countries as well. It was decided at the meeting that steps should be taken to gradually develop diploma to degree level.  Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan stressed on the need to improve the quality of training programs for human resource development. The meeting decided that the assets and  Human resources of Balochistan Technical Education Board which was formed under 1962 Ordinance will be transferred to B-TEVTA, the meeting decided that  a committee would also be set up to review the necessary amendments in the relevant act and it was decided to set up various working groups and committees for smooth working B-TEVTA. The Chair directed B-TEVTA to provide policy guidelines to all training centers and monitor them.  Approval was also given for the appointment of MD of the Authority while the Chief Minister directed that the Chambers of Commerce and Trade Unions should also be represented in the working groups. Earlier, the progress of implementation of the decisions taken in the last meeting of the Board was reviewed.
